(Defence Ministry photo)The government is planning to redevelop Klong Ku Muang Derm and Klong Lord, two canals located on Rattanakosin Island into an important tourist attraction reminiscent of England's Cotswolds, a Defence Ministry source said on Monday. The Cotswolds is an area of rolling hills in south central England. Defence Ministry permanent secretary, Gen Nat Intarachareon, said he will proceed with the plan. "Yellow star flowers will be cultivated along the canals ... Old buildings will be renovated and repainted in soft yellow," he said.
